MAT103:Matter:Technology and Adoption from a User's and Ecosystems Perspective

This session reviews the current smart home experience, how Matter deployment has been from a user's perspective, and the future of the Matter smart home.

このセッションについて

As a developer and consumer of smart home devices, I have been both an advocate and adopter of the technology for years. With over 100 smart home devices and multiple ecosystems in my home, spanning technologies like Zigbee, Wi-Fi, Z-Wave, Bluetooth and Proprietary, is Matter really going to be the savior for my smart home? This presentation steps back from all the hype around Matter and looks at the current issues with the smart home, the pros and cons of Matter, and how the initial Matter deployment has been from a user's perspective. Then we will discuss what is on the horizon for Matter and how that does or does not address this user's real-life experience with Matter and the smart home.
•Years in the making: The current smart home experience
•Unification of the smart home: The good, the bad and the ugly of Matter migration
•The future of Matter: What lies ahead for the Matter specification
